1. What are some other names for commercial? Advertisement, advert, ad, TV spot.

2. When was the first commercial broadcast in the United States? The first commercial broadcast in the US was at 14:29 on July 1, 1941.

3. How much did this first commercial cost and how long was it aired for? The first commercial cost $11.95 and it was aired for 20 seconds.

4. What features do most commercials have to make them successful? Successful commercials should have a slogan or something that makes poeple remember the commercial, high quality in sound and image, some audio such as voice or a song or vissual effects and some tricky facts about the product.

5. How long did the typical television program run in the 1960s compared to today? The typical television program in the 1960s run for 50 min. and today it runs for about 40 min.

6. Over the course of 10 hours how much commercial time is there in the US? 6 hours of commercial time! Wow!

7. How much does a 30 second commercial cost during the Superbowl? It costs $2.5 million during the Superbowl.

8. Are commercials for cigarettes and alcohol permitted in the US, when did this change occur?No, they aren’t permitted in the US since September 10, 1998.

9. How does commercial advertising in Europe differ from the United States? In Europe commercials for cigarettes and alcohol are permitted and they don’t take as much time as in the US, though it takes a lot…

10. In three sentences suggest what the future holds for television advertisements. I believe in the future, television advertisements will last less because the Internet will be the main source to advertise products, companies, etc… Commercial-makers will have to pay to the owner of a website to advertise their stuff, instead of the TV programs and channels.

History of Computer

Lesson 1

1.) One of the oldiest calculating machine was the abacus that’s about 5,000 years old.

2.) Mechanical Calculators were invented in the 1600s.

3.) The first person to invent a ancestorial computer was Charles Babbages it was on the 1800s and it did not work, it broke down.

4.) What allows us use the computer that 220 years ago wasn’t posible is the electronic components (non moving parts).

5.) The Stone Henge was used for a gaint astonomical calculater.

6.) The four parts of a computer are the output, input, storage and processing. 

  Lesson 2

1. The physical parts of a computer are called hardware.

2. Input is processed by the computer by the microprocessor, that reads the input and accept it in order to put the information in your computer.

3. A microprocessor is in charge of making the computer do the tasks we ask it to do.

4. The four components of a computer are: input, processing, storage, and output.

5. The activity is about clicking in some hardware parts of the computer and finding out which of the four components is it.

Lesson 3

1. Information processing is being able to change and access information like numbers, texts, ect…

2. Information like numbers, pictures, texts, music or webpages.

3. Input devices are used to put information in your computer.

4. Screen, keyborad, microphone, mouse, scanner ect…

5. Data had to be entered by fliping switches and plugging wires.

6. The electronic numerical indicator and calculator.

Lesson 4

1. Computers store temporary information and long-term information.

  Lesson 6

1. An output is information that is displayed to the user in some discernible form such as a screen display, printed page, or sound. Ex: Word document, Picture, song… 2. A microprocessor handles the fetch, decode and execute steps of the computer.

3. The diference between downloas and upload is that download is to transfer files or data from one computer to another. To download means to receive; to upload means to transmit.

Identity Theft Questions

1. Is the act of stealing someones personal information, such as D.N.I,so to be able to make transactions or purchases in the name of the person who is stealing your personal information.

2. -Stealing mail adress.
-Stealing payment or identification cards or the information on them
-Eavesdropping on public transactions to obtain personal data (shoulder surfing)

3. It can ruin financial resources by changing an adress to fake one or leaving bank accounts empty.

4. The 2003 survey from the Identity Theft Resource Center found that :

* Only 15% of victims find out about the theft through proactive action taken by a business
* The average time spent by victims resolving the problem is about 40 hours
* 73% of respondents indicated the crime involved the thief acquiring a credit card
* The emotional impact is similar to that of victims of violent crimes

5. Is it easy to become a victim of identity theft, explain why or why not?

It is, because almost anyone can be pickpocketed or spied, and if someone looks through your trash, you wouldnt really notice.

6. What sort of problems will a victim have after an identity theft?

The delinquent can block out your credit cards and leave your bank account empty. This makes you unable to buy anything.

7. What type of information is usually taken in a theft?

Credit card numbers, social security numbers, names and a wide variety of passwords.

8. How is this information obtained?

Some identity thieves sift through trash bins looking for bank account and credit cards. They can watch you from a distance as you punch in card numbers, or listen in on a conversation. Some can take pictures of your cards. Others can steal wallets or personal information you give to an unsecured site on the Internet. They can also steal information by using special storage devices.

9. What are some ways to prevent yourself from becoming a victim.

Look through your personal documents and bank account status aswell as not give information about your bank account or other important information to anyone.

10. Finally, what should you do if you have been victimized by identity theft?

You should speak to the police and fill in a report, aswell as block your credit cards by phoning your bank.

1. A Plugin is a computer program that interacts with a host application to provide a certain, usually very specific, function "on demand".

5. The main difference is that plugins generally rely on the host application’s user interface and have a well-defined boundary to their possible set of actions. Extensions generally have fewer restrictions on their actions, and may provide their own user interfaces.
